The newsletter, available now on ASME.org, will provide updates on ASME's growing nano portfolio which includes the NanoEngineering Council; the Global Congress on NanoEngineering for Medicine and Biology; the Society-Wide Micro Nanotechnology Forum; the Nano Educational Series of podcasts, webinars and online assessment-based courses; the Journal of Nanotechnology in Engineering and Medicine; and many more related products and services. The first issue of the Emerging Nano Newsletter, which is expected to be published quarterly, was posted on the ASME website earlier this month. The next issue of the newsletter is slated for release later this year. Articles included in the Summer 2013 issue cover such topics as the upcoming ASME Society-Wide Micro Nano Technology Forum at the ASME Congress in November; the NanoEngineering for Medicine and Biology Congress (NEMB 2014), which will take place next February; and a recent podcast on Nanotechnology and Public Health by Desiree Plata, assistant professor of civil and environmental engineering at Duke University. The newsletter also features a profile of nanoscale transport phenomena researcher Ronggui Yang and a message from Vikas Prakash, chair of the NanoEngineering Council.
